LaFayette Middle School (LMS) is the largest middle school in Walker County. We teach grades 6th-8th. We are a Title I School. Our staff is committed to teaching our future leaders to Ensure All Students Graduate: Ready for College, Ready for Work and Ready for Life. Our academic structure includes two grade level teams per grade. Each team has an ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies teacher. Our school schedule each day consists of all four academic classes and one connection class. Our classes are seventy-minutes long. We also provide an ELT (Extended Learning Time) each day so students can receive remediation or enrichments when needed. LMS also strives to meet the needs of all students. We are the only middle school to offer the opportunity for students to earn high school credit in up to four classes: Spanish, Algebra I, Physical Science and Ag. If you would like to see what is going on in our classes, please visit our Teacher Weblogs on our LMS Website.

LMS received a Five Star Climate Rating from the Georgia Department of Education.
We are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) School and we incorporate the Second Steps Program in our Teacher As Advisors (TAA) meeting twice a month. This program allows the student to participate in social skills building and decision-making activities to help them resolve issues when they arrive. LMS also has a Renaissance Program to reward students for their academic achievement, attendance and showing their Rambler Pride.

LMS also offers various clubs, academic competition teams and athletic teams that students can participate in.
