Principal-Jamie Debity

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Lafayette Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such wonderful students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families. I’m working hard this month to make for a smooth transition.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-three years. I taught high school history, head high school basketball coach as well as a high school assistant principal. Most recently, I have served as one of the assistant principals at Lafayette Middle School. I am thrilled to be in the role of principal. I’m excited to be working with you as partners in education to ensure your child's success.

On a personal note, my wife and I both have a passion for education. She is an educator in Walker County Schools and a dedicated teacher. I have five children, two daughters, and three sons.

I have shared your struggles throughout the pandemic with digital platforms and quarantines. I understand that this is not just a school struggle but a family struggle to ensure your child receives an education. Lafayette Middle is dedicated to making your child have the best middle school experience possible. I am proud to be a part of the Walker County School District. Walker County is a district that values high standards by providing rich learning experiences for all students. The relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Assistant Principal-Adam Crowley

I attended University of Tennessee of Chattanooga where I double majored in Applied Mathematics and Secondary Education. After receiving my Masters in Education at UTC, I went on to complete my Specialist in Leadership at Augusta University.  I started my teaching and coaching (baseball) career at my alma matter, East Ridge High school, where I taught upper-level math.  I later moved to Gordon Lee Middle school where I taught and coached (baseball, football, volleyball) for 13 years.I am married to Lisa, who is a 6th grade science teacher, and we have three children together: Austin, Maddy and Deedy.  We love to travel as a family and especially enjoy seeing Professional Baseball Stadiums. We have seen 26 out of the 30 parks. I am excited to represent Lafayette Middle school as your Assistant Principal and to be a part of the Walker County school system. I look forward to a great year as a Rambler!
