LaFayette Middle School (LMS) is the largest middle school in Walker County. We teach grades 6th-8th. We are a Title I School. Our staff is committed to teaching our future leaders to Ensure All Students Graduate: Ready for College, Ready for Work and Ready for Life.

Our academic structure includes two grade level teams per grade. Each team has an ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies teacher. Our school schedule each day consists of all four academic classes and one connection class. Our classes are sixty-five-minutes long. We also provide a Study Skills each day so students can receive remediation or enrichments as needed. LMS also strives to meet the needs of all students. We offer the opportunity for our students to earn high school credit in up to five classes: Spanish, Algebra I, Physical Science, Computer Science, and Ag.

LMS has received a Five Star Climate Rating from the Georgia Department of Education multiple times over the last five years.  We are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school. This program encourages our students to make decisions that are positive and that demonstrates Rambler PRIDE!

Title 1 funding has helped fund interactive touch screen panels in all classrooms, Chromebooks, and various software programs to improve student engagement and achievement.  Students use Reading Plus software on a weekly basis school-wide and in their Language Arts classes to improve their reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary.  Improving these skills is a main focus at LMS.
